Don’t let imperfections with your teeth get you down.

With the help of composite bonding, we can improve everything, including the shape, shade, size and condition of individual teeth, using minimally invasive techniques.

What is composite bonding?

Composite bonding involves having fine layers of tooth-coloured resin adhered to individual teeth. This versatile process is a quick fix for all kinds of problems, including discolouration, cracks, chips and gaps within your smile.

Quick-fire benefits

  • Can be used to give symmetry to your smile.
  • Small gaps can be closed.
  • Protects your natural tooth tissue.
  • Takes place in a single visit.
  • Address discolouration of individual teeth (white and black spots can be removed).

FAQs

Is there a benefit of having composite bonding instead of veneers?

If you’re someone who isn’t keen on multiple visits to the dentist, composite bonding may be the treatment for you, taking only one visit to complete: veneers take at least two.

Composite bonding is also favourable due to the way it keeps your natural tooth structure completely intact. Veneers may be the more durable of the two treatments (lasting more than 10 years) though it does require your tooth to be filed down before the veneer can be placed over the front surface.

Composite bonding has soared in popularity over the last decade, not just because the process is so simple to undergo but because it produces fantastic authentic results.

How does my dentist achieve such a natural-looking outcome?

Great cosmetic dentistry is as much about artistry and dexterity as it is about science. Your dentist here at Loddon Vale will use their experience and eye for smile anatomy to produce a result that is completely appropriate for how your teeth sit together in your mouth.

The shade of the resin is matched to the shade of your tooth. The way these resins are assembled and bonded to your tooth means the natural luminosity of real tooth enamel can be emulated.

How long do the results last?

We cannot make an exact prediction as to how long the results will last, as this depends on several factors, including:

  • How regimental you are with your oral hygiene routine.
  • Whether or not you grind your teeth.
  • Whether your tooth sustains trauma.
  • Whether you sustain decay or gum disease.

As a general estimate, composite bonding should last between 4 and 7 years.
